Not the Best

Posted : 14 years, 6 months ago on 1 October 2009 05:15 (A review of Eclipse (Twilight Saga, Book 3))

I really didn't care for Eclipse. I found myself skimming as I hurried on to Breaking Dawn. The love triangle was seriously depressing. Steph makes you love all of her chaaracters, and i couldn't stand the anguish Jacob felt. Also I was kind of over the Victoria angle. Your telling me it took three books for vampires and werewolves to kill her. I love Twilight, but i was not impressed.

Review

This book was not as interesting as the first on the surface. Steph's writing in this book is much more morrose, and I loved the range she gave the characeters. Tihs book paves the way for the next.

A Love/Hate Thing

Posted : 14 years, 6 months ago on 1 October 2009 04:24 (A review of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince)

The entire time I watched this movie i felt like i was watching my favorite story come to life thru the eye of a simpleton who had given 50% effort. The story of book 6 is the pinacle of Harry Potter. I waited 3 hours for this! There were so many things they changed, or took out completely. They changed several key points to the whole vanishing wardrobe part; and that Ginny/Harry kiss...nothing like the book. Call me a silly romantic but the kiss scene after winning the house cup was one of my favorites. The thing that bothered me the most was the added scene where the Weasley's house is set on fire. There are so many things wrong with that scene. Yes i like the comradery of the scene and Ginny running to help, but there are so many things that were actually in the book they could have put there it just irks me. And what was up with Ginny being all housewife and fixing harry's shoes.
I was spose to come out of this movie on a Harry high, but i spent the next 24 hrs lisiting everything i hated about it. I was VERY disapointed.

Buffy on a Pedastal

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 30 September 2009 05:08 (A review of Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

I have to agree the first four seasons are the only ones I watch anymore. Season 3 is my favorite. Sometime during seson 5 things just got to unreal. Willow a lesbian witch gone bad no way. And season 6 sucked, bringing Buffy back from the dead, how terrible.

My all-time favorite TV series. This series was my yard stick for life. My dad and I are very close and we watched this show every week together. I was sad to see it end, but the ending couldn't have been better. Luke and Lorelai finally got it together and Rory has the world at her feet. I loved her and Logan, but it should have been Jess. He was the only one that really understood her.

The first time I heard this story was on vacation. We borrowed the audio cassettes from the library and listen to it on the road. I was completely taken in my Meg's story. The classic battle between good and evil fought by kids. This book is worth reading more than once, but if you have the opportunity listen to it on cd, it's worth it.

Wuthering Heights (Bantam Classics) review

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 30 September 2009 04:44 (A review of Wuthering Heights (Bantam Classics))

I was surprised by how much I liked Wuthering Heights because I didn't especially like any of the characters, and I found the style hard to follow at first. This book speaks to the death of romantic notions. Wuthering Heights was an anti-romance, which was the opposite of what I thought it would be. However the intense emotion between characters kept me reading.

The Free Lunch is one of my favorite time travel books. I've read it about 25 times. The world Robinson creates could very like be where we are headed. it brings how we treat each other and the planet into new light. Good balance between deep thought and great future technology.

Favorite Twilight Book

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 28 September 2009 05:20 (A review of Breaking Dawn)

The best book in the series, Breaking Dawn gives you more than you could have ever expected. There are too many things i love about this book. Jacob finally having a place in Bella's life, Renesme, Edwards hearing Bella's thoughts. As much as I wish there were another four books about the Cullens, this was the best consulation we could get.

This Lullaby Review

Posted : 14 years, 7 months ago on 28 September 2009 05:15 (A review of This Lullaby)

This is my favorite Sarah Dessen book. Remy is a very relatable character. The turmoil between family friends, and boys tie together like an everyday person's life. Her relationship with Dexter is so unperfect and yet you know from the beginning that it just works. The ending takes turns you don't expect, while still stringing everything together.
